Every person deserves a permanent place to call home. But nationally, over 400,000 children and youth wait for adoption and permanency every year. These children and the families who care for them require support programs to ensure their success. Professionals in child welfare require training and consultation to stay ahead of practice trends and issues. That’s where we come in. Since 2000, Family Design Resources, in partnership with Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries, has been the program administrator for Pennsylvania's Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN), the only public-private partnership of its kind in the United States. We administer an array of adoption and permanency services to ensure more children are able to establish healthy, lifelong connections. The Legal Services Initiative seeks to eliminate the legal barriers preventing a child from reaching permanency.
