Olweus Bullying Prevention Program
Family Design Resource’s trainers are certified graduates of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program (OBPP) and are available to assist in implementing your school’s bullying prevention initiative. Olweus’ system of bullying prevention is the most researched and best known program available today. With over 35 years of research and successes, the OBPP is a whole-school, blueprint program proven to prevent or reduce bullying throughout a school setting.
FDR begins the program with a two-day session for a core group of your staff and remains as consultants for a year after the initial training. FDR adheres to the fidelity of the OBPP model by working to change attitudes and behaviors in the school building, classrooms, individuals and the community. School administrators, teachers and other staff administer the program, and students are involved in many aspects. OBPP’s methods also reach out to parents and the community for participation and support. These efforts improve peer relations and make schools a safer and more positive place for students to learn and develop.
Recent legislation in Pennsylvania and elsewhere calls for schools to create policies that address bullying and reduce the risk factors that can lead to problem behaviors. This program will help you formulate or refine your school’s bully prevention efforts with a research-proven system.
